How much is Terminal 2 parking at San Diego Airport? ›

Terminal 2 Parking Lot Rates

The cost of parking at Terminal 2 Parking Lot is $38 per day.

Pedestrian walkways connect Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at San Diego International Airport. Pedestrian bridges and crosswalks connect the passenger terminals to transportation islands and adjacent parking lots in front of the terminals.

Both terminals have ground transportation services and parking garages located outside of the terminal buildings. Terminal 2 is larger and more modern, but Terminal 1 still handles around 50% of the passenger traffic, so it is due for future expansion.

There are two parking areas for Terminal 2, parking area 1 is right beside the terminal and is for short term parking. For overnight parking, you have to go to parking area 2 which is beside the old hotel, then it's a short walk to the terminal entrance.

San Diego International Airport visitors and employees may have noticed increased maintenance and construction activities inside Terminal 2 West (T2W), which primarily serves Air Canada, Breeze Airways, British Airways, Delta Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Japan Airlines, Lufthansa, United Airlines, and WestJet.

Arrive Early: Longer lines and wait times may result because of increased security measures. Plan to arrive two (2) hours prior to flight departures. Passengers are strongly encouraged to check with their respective airlines to verify schedules before coming to the Airport.

The electric shuttle buses will operate seven days a week, with an average arrival every 20-30 minutes. Pick up and drop-offs are timed to meet the first and last Trolley, Coasters, Amtrak trains, and MTS busses with the first pick up at 4:45 a.m. and the last pick up/drop off at 12:30 a.m.

Airside (after security)

After passing through security in each terminal, you are within a single departures area, and you can freely walk between both terminals and all boarding gates.

The first 19 gates in the new terminal, now under construction, are expected to open by late summer of next year. Demolition of the old terminal will immediately follow. The additional 11 gates should be ready by 2028. Considerable progress has been made since construction first got under way in November 2021.
